Let God Sweat the Small Stuff
Life is complicated right? Well it certainly feels that way most of the time. The world is a mess, our spouse is angry with us, our children are struggling with their behavior or we’re sick. The list of problems can be overwhelming. But, our Bible tells us our Heavenly Father loves and cares about every aspect of our lives. Still we seem to have a hard time letting go of all of “our responsibilities”. Now of course we are to do our best in everything we put our hands to. The world teaches us to take ownership of our many challenges. When we do, we inevitably struggle. It’s the social norm to focus on oneself. God’s way encourages us to seek Him first with all things. When we try take on everything ourselves, it’s easy to get distracted from the bigger picture, which is sharing God’s love with others.
Jesus made a way for a more effective life. The Father wants to lead you to the right decisions, he wants you to live in peace with all people and he wants your children to live happy, successful lives. He desires for us to rely on Him so we can be effectual members of His church, leading others to salvation. But we have to trust Him to help us and believe that we deserve a worry-free life. He qualified you to receive all that you might need through Jesus. Paul wrote in Philippians 4:18-19, “Indeed I have all and abound. I am full, having received from Epaphroditus the things sent from you, a sweet-smelling aroma, an acceptable sacrifice, well pleasing to God. And my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus.” Jesus is our sweet-smelling aroma to the Father, he is our perfect and acceptable blood sacrifice for all that you need. So the next time you feel overwhelmed, ask yourself if you’re trusting God to do the heavy lifting for you. Remind yourself that you’re qualified to receive all the riches of heaven and think of Jesus. Life isn’t so complicated when we take the focus off of ourselves. If we let God sweat the small stuff we are more available to do His work. Our spirits are at peace when we rely on Him and we can easily listen to His leading. Think of others first and dwell on the beauty that is Jesus, He is our hope.
“For the Lord has charged us, saying, I have set you to be a light for the Gentiles (the heathen), that you may bring (eternal) salvation to the uttermost parts of the earth.” Acts 13:47
