The Rock

Who do you lean upon when your heart is overwhelmed? Who do you lean upon when the circumstances of life is like quick sand that drags you down deep.
I like what the Psalmist David said in Psalm 61
vs 1 Hear my cry, O God; attend unto my prayer. vs 2 From the end of the earth will I cry unto thee, when my heart is overwhelmed; lead me to the rock that is higher than I. vs 3 For thou hast been a shelter for me, and a strong tower from the enemy.
King David was no stranger to troubles and tribulations in his life. Some caused by his own doing, and many by others. However the circumstance, King David looked, went, and leaned upon the Rock of his salvation; he went to the strong tower.
Most towers and castles are built from solid rock blocks. Sometimes when I go fishing, I like to lean upon a rock to rest from getting fatigued, it holds me up good and strong. It's better to be in the strong high tower then in the soft sandy desert where it's hard to walk through.
Whatever the circumstance, look to God and make him your shelter. Castles are not only rock solid, but they are cooler in tempature because of the protection. It's also harder for weapons, such as fiery darts from the wicked one, to come in. The advantages are always better in the strong tower of God.
God is your defense, protection, and the best shelter to be in every present time of trouble.
